saccharine

Let me speak of love,
beyond the eyes of moonlight.
Let me risk an innocent dove,
and gamble with pain till they become scars in the night..

Let me awaken from a spell,
that makes me  weep for love alone.
I can make more than a thousand claims,
yet I find that I am sited right here on my own.

Let me not hear the whisper of hello,
that always end with the cry of goodbye.
Let me have the strength to go,
to cradle and caress these tortured mem’ries till they rot away and die……
